not an algorithm. rising surfaces artists who got their first boosts in the past 7 days from at least 3 people you've never heard of (not in your follows or supporting list). when those people boost more, the artist climbs. when they un-boost, it falls. that's the entire formula. no ML, no surprise, no monetization influence.
